St. George’s School seeks an experienced professional to lead the Arts department in our flourishing Secondary School to start in April 2025.
The School
Serving the international community in Cologne for almost 40 years, St. George’s School combines an enriching curriculum with family orientated care. The school has grown from small beginnings into a thriving community of approximately 800 pupils, aged from 2-18 and representing more than 50 nationalities.
The National Curriculum is taught throughout the school, and we offer the IB Diploma in our Sixth form.

The Location
Located on a new, purpose built campus on the outskirts of Cologne, St. George’s School enjoys direct transport links to the city centre, as well as to the greater area of Cologne-Bonn.

The Role
We are seeking to appoint an experienced professional to lead the Arts Department in our Secondary School. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and forward thinking professional, who is able to build on the excellent work of their predecessor.
The successful applicant will be a dynamic teacher with previous leadership experience. We are looking for the right balance between experience, enthusiasm and a passion for teaching and learning which will inspire students and colleagues.
Fluency in English and familiarity with the English National Curriculum are a prerequisite. A strong desire to contribute to the rich extra-curricular life of the department is also an advantage.
Given the growing and developing nature of the school, flexibility and the desire to support other team members is essential. A strong desire to contribute to the rich pastoral and extra-curricular life of the school will also be an advantage.
The Creative Arts Faculty is made up of three key subjects; Music, Visual Arts and Drama. The faculty aims to promote both an enthusiasm for creative pursuits, as well as an academic understanding of the forms and structures that underpin creative activity.
