Unique opportunity for an outstanding teacher
We are looking for an enthusiastic and inspiring teacher to lead the Creative Technologies department at Derby Cathedral School as it continues to grow in terms of numbers and success.
The 11 – 19 secondary school opened in September 2018, established by Derby Diocesan Academy Trust (DDAT) and Derby Cathedral to help meet the need for additional high-quality secondary places in the Derby area and to give local families more choice. The school has had a successful start and is currently over-subscribed. There are currently two cohorts of students in school with a further cohort due to join in September 2020, and every subsequent year until full.
Derby Cathedral School is the first ever Church of England Secondary school in the Diocese. Work will commence shortly on the construction of state-of-the-art buildings in a high-profile location in Derby City Centre.
The school equips students with skills and qualifications that enable them to access high-quality careers in and around the city of Derby. The curriculum offer is broad and balanced and our specialism in Mathematics and Music is enhanced by strong links with the Cathedral Choir and Music Department, which has a track record of music tutelage. The curriculum specialisms are a key part of the school vision and represent a platform from which we build high levels of personal development, well-being and achievement from Year 7 onwards.
Location:
Just on the edge of the beautiful Peak District National Park, Derby is just 15 minutes from the M1 junction 24 and accessible via the A6, A50, A38 and A52. With abundant family friendly amenities in the City and quick and easy access to the surrounding countryside, Derby is ideally placed and identified as one of the top places to live in the UK.
The development of a brand-new site within the City Centre will provide abundant parking and a new, modern working environment.
