Do you have the passion and motivation to inspire young people?

Do you have the ability to deliver high quality learning experiences?

Do you want to be part of a school that is delivering on its promise to secure high examination outcomes for its students?

If so, then you will not want to miss out on the opportunity to join our high-performing school as Head of Department: English (known as Progress Leader in our College). The person appointed will be an outstanding classroom practitioner and strong leader who will join a vibrant and forward-thinking English team.

Why come to Latimer?

This is a fantastic school to work in: as a result of our success and popularity we are over-subscribed and have a very strong positive reputation. On interview we ask candidates for their impressions of the College and without fail they comment on how wonderful our students are, the supportive team ethos amongst staff and how friendly and welcoming the College is.

We are a tight-knit unit striving for the very best for our students and we are focused on, and passionate about, learning and success.

We care passionately about our staff, their wellbeing and their professional development and this is reflected in the fact that we are a happy team, committed to working collaboratively and sharing the very best practice.

Due to relocation, we find ourselves seeking a new Head of English. Our current post-holder joined us as an NQT 12 years ago and secured rapid career progression!

So we are looking for a new leader: in essence, we are looking for an outstanding English teacher and outstanding leader!

We are seeking a Head of Department with the vision, passion and energy to deliver excellence for our students; someone who will share our passion for English; and also someone who will bring a clear vision, new ideas and embrace the culture of sharing that we foster.

This post provides an exciting opportunity to work with the other two leaders in the department at this time of curriculum change and for the post-holder to play a significant part in shaping the future of the subject! It will also provide a great stepping stone for someone who aspires to senior leadership in the future.

Whether you are currently in a leadership role or looking to make the next step-up in your career, this post is an excellent opportunity for you to really make a difference on your journey to senior leadership.

For an application form and further details, please contact Ms Ridley, Principal’s PA, on 01536 720310 or email vacancies@latimer.org.uk
