Job overview

The Laurel Academy are looking to appoint a dynamic, inspirational, hard-working and creative Head of Business and ICT to join our academy in April 2020.

We are an 11 -16 Academy of 660 pupils serving the town of Mexborough and its surrounding area.  The Laurel has been sponsored by Delta Academies Trust since November 2018.  The aim of the school is to help each and every one of the students develop into mature and confident young people who are fully prepared for life beyond the Academy.  We insist on the highest standards of behaviour and believe in an ethos of respect, courtesy, tolerance and hard work.  We foster a ‘can do’ attitude where students are encouraged to move out of their comfort zone, participate in new experiences and not to fear failure.  This, coupled with our state of the art facilities in a recently built and well equipped building, creates an environment where students flourish.

Do you have the dedication, vision and drive to lead and inspire our teachers, taking them to the next level?  If you believe you have the experience, determination and drive to take our Business and ICT Department forward then we would like to hear from you.

You will be joining an ambitious, committed and hardworking team who are passionate about the difference we can make to our young people, staff, families and the wider community.  The Laurel is a great place to work where you can make a real difference to the lives of young people.  With the support of Delta Academies Trust we are on an exciting journey to create a truly exceptional academy for the young people of our community.

Visits to the academy would be warmly welcomed by appointment. Please contact the academy on 01709 585858 if you would like to arrange a visit.
