In this newly created role, a Head of Department with expertise in delivering Performing Arts will have the opportunity to build on four terms of groundwork and shape the curriculum structure and methodology in their own style ready for delivery of the GCSE courses starting in September 2021.

The role offers scope for innovation and creativity to overcome unexpected challenges, break fresh ground and to encourage and promote excellent teaching skills among our enthusiastic, hardworking and dedicated staff. There is a strong team spirit which has contributed to a supportive learning environment for both staff and students

As detailed in the candidate pack, Creative and Performing Arts will grow as a specialism within Coombe Wood School and become a key strand of study as we enter our state of the art new facilities in September 2020.

This role would suit either an aspirant Performing Arts teacher looking to develop their middle leader skills for 18 months before guiding our inaugural GCSE courses, or an experienced middle leader who wishes to build a department in their own style and methodology.

It is to expected that, subject to outstanding performance, the TLR for this role will grow as we move towards public examinations at GCSE and A Level.
