Head of Design and Technology

St Julian’s is an ambitious, over-subscribed comprehensive school situated in the city of Newport. We have an excellent reputation within the local community as a result of our continuous drive to meet the needs of each individual learner. We have almost 1600 students on roll 

We are looking for an excellent classroom practitioner. The successful candidate will demonstrate a passion for teaching and will show evidence they have the ability to lead and inspire our students, developing a love of learning and Technology across the school.  Evidence of leadership experience, raising standards and working within a team environment are essential requisites. The successful candidate requires the qualities necessary to ensure cohesion and consistency within the team of staff whilst not stifling individual creativity.

The Design and Technology Department consists of five full time teachers, teaching a full range of subjects such as Construction, Textiles, Engineering, Product Design, Food, and Graphics. The department also has two designated technicians.
