Ashington Academy is seeking to appoint an inspiring and innovative Head of Design and Technology to lead our students through a 7-year journey, preparing them to be responsible innovators for a sustainable and moral future. This is an exciting opportunity for an aspiring leader to manage a successful department in a school where Design and Technology is held in high regard by students and staff.  

The role of Head of Design and Technology will include developing and delivering an ambitious and robust curriculum across KS3 to KS5. We offer a fully resourced department with a technician to help support you in your leadership and management of the subject area. Our students enjoy access to wood and metal workshops, as well as a CAD suite including 3D printers, vinyl cutters, a laser cutter, CNC machines and 28 wide screen computers running the latest range of subject specific software.

At Ashington Academy, we aim to provide opportunities to enable all students to learn and make lifelong friendships in a caring, supportive environment. In becoming successful learners, we want all our students to develop a love of learning, to recognise that learning is a lifelong activity and that the skills they acquire and develop are transferrable.
