Head of Art, Design and Technology  


This post is temporary until the end of August 2022 in the first instance, but with the potential to extend to a permanent role

Great Western Academy opened in 2018 and now has 720 students across years 7 to 10, 12 and 13. The academy has excellent facilities in its recently built premises and serves the new community of Tadpole Garden Village in North Swindon; it is heavily oversubscribed. This includes students studying Art, Fashion and Textiles, and Product Design at A-level, supported by a team of three strong and experienced teachers. 


We require a highly effective Curriculum Leader of Art, Design and Technology whose practice is instrumental in ensuring that students of all ages and abilities achieve consistently strong outcomes. You will be an outstanding teacher of Art or DT who has the qualities to lead colleagues in each of these areas, securing the highest possible standards in teaching and learning. You will have the ability teach at all levels from years 7 to 13 and be driven to ensure that students receive the best possible experience of the subject by bringing creative ideas to the classroom.
