Our Design Technology & Art faculty are a well-established team, each of whom brings a wealth of experience and skills across a wide range of subject disciplines. At Key Stage 3, Design & Technology is delivered on a carousel system throughout the year, across three material areas: Product Design, Textiles and Food. Our students also develop a good understanding of CAD/CAM processes within the curriculum area. Art is taught as a discrete subject at KS3 and both Art & Photography are popular subjects at both GCSE and A-Level. Design & Technology is an optional subject at KS4 and students can choose 1 or more options from the different DT material areas. The faculty are housed in a dedicated block with three art rooms, four resistant materials work-shops, a textiles workshop & two food technology rooms; together with a dedicated prep room, IT suite & a shared staff base.
