Newton Prep is a successful and dynamic school for children between the ages of 3 and 13.  We have high standards and expectations and are interested in education in the fullest sense. We seek to ensure that our pupils benefit from a proper balance of academic excellence, fun and activity combined with strong pastoral support.

Due to the promotion of the current post holder, we are seeking to appoint a highly motivated and inspirational teacher to lead on teaching and learning through digital means. The post holder will manage and develop the School’s Computing curriculum and academic IT plan in line with technological advances and in accordance with the strategic vision for the school as set out in the School’s Improvement and Development Plans.  The role also involves teaching Computing from Year 1 to Year 8

Applications are invited from candidates who hold a recognised teaching qualification (BA (Ed), BEd or PGCE); have a keen interest in computing and are capable of strategic, innovative leadership.  The ability to deliver high quality lessons combined with excellent communication and interpersonal skills are also essential pre-requisites.

In a London landscape crowded with prep schools, Newton Prep stands out. We have an oasis of a garden where our children perform Shakespeare, hunt for mini-beasts and conduct scientific experiments.

Despite the excellence of their education, Newton Prep children are notable for their lack of arrogance; there is no sense of entitlement here. The kindness and generosity shown by the pupils towards their peers is remarkable; we are particularly proud of the engagement between the older children and our youngest pupils.

This spirit of community is also built into the Newton Diploma, our revolutionary humanities curriculum for Years 7 and 8. This is a cross-curricular, rigorous and exciting programme which allows pupils to explore links between subjects, extend initiatives for service and leadership, and breathe real fire into their intellectual curiosity.

We are not a blazers-and-boaters kind of school. As a school only thirty years young, we are not limited to looking back at the past to inform what we do in the future.
