Job overview
We are seeking an experienced Drama Teacher to lead our Drama department to support with the increase in the rise of numbers on roll. There is also the potential for a Teacher of Drama, without the leadership responsibility for a less experienced applicant.
At KS3 all students enjoy the Drama curriculum, and at GCSE the school offers Drama as an option for year 9 students with pupils studying the AQA GCSE syllabus. The subject is popular with students and the take up at GCSE has been good.
You will join a team of creative, supportive and reflective middle leaders who play a key role in driving school improvement. We are seeking an excellent practitioner who is innovative and committed to raising the achievement and enjoyment of learners in Drama to lead a popular department into the next stage of their development.

The Stonehenge School is a mixed 11 – 16 comprehensive school in south Wiltshire, close to the cathedral city of Salisbury. The school has been judged ‘good’ in each of its last five Ofsted inspections, most recently in April 2017, and pupil numbers are set to increase significantly over the next five years.

About The Stonehenge School
The Stonehenge School is a mixed, comprehensive, non-denominational secondary school situated in Amesbury, Wiltshire. It is an above average-sized state school, having almost reached its full capacity of 1,120 places for pupils aged 11–16. In 2019, our new £6.5 million extension was opened providing 24 additional state-of-the -art classrooms, and in 2023 further improvements have been made through the £6 million block that was opened to replace existing accommodation.
The school serves the expanding town of Amesbury, the location of the Boscombe Down airbase and the Solstice Park Enterprise Zone, the two largest employers in the area. The catchment area also includes several of the surrounding villages and around a quarter of the intake lives outside of our catchment. Many of these are children from services families located on Salisbury Plain.
