Head of Early Years and Children’s Centres

A unique opportunity to lead the Early Education and Children’s Centre Service as part of a newly formed team in Slough

You will be responsible for leading Slough Borough Council’s approach to the provision of universal and targeted early learning and childcare services, ensuring a preventative and early intervention approach, and securing best outcomes for our children in Slough as they move through the educational sector.

You will be responsible for leading the Slough Borough Council’s approach to the provision of services for children with additional support needs across all sectors, supporting the Director for developing and improving early learning and childcare services and services for children with additional support needs in a manner which integrates and is consistent with wider services for children. It is essential that you posses a degree or professional qualification in an appropriate discipline together with membership of professional institution/association.

You must also be able to demonstrate a record of achievement at senior management level in an education environment preferably with reference to young children. A thorough knowledge and understanding of legislation relating to additional support needs, inclusion and early years is also essential, together with extensive and proven experience in strategic policy development and implementation; the development and management of strategic partnerships; service improvement and successful budgetary management and control.
