An outstanding classroom practitioner who leads by example, proven leadership skills to take on the role of Head of Early Years. We are looking for an outstanding leader to join our team in August 2017. Al Rabeeh Academy is a brand new, purpose built school, opening August 2017 and is a part of a growing network of schools.   

The current Al Rabeeh School is a well-established primary school with an excellent reputation within the community of Abu Dhabi and was recently rated a Band A School in an ADEC full school inspection. Al Rabeeh School was established in 1979, making it one of the oldest international schools in Abu Dhabi, growing considerably over the years. The school is a member of British Schools in the Middle East (BSME) and is committed to professional development and the CPD programmes BSME offers. 

Al Rabeeh Academy is a bilingual private school from FS1 to Year 13, delivering the English National Curriculum, alongside Arabic Language, Islamic Studies and Social Studies (taught by Arabic teachers). The girls and boys are segregated from Year 4. There is a well structured leadership ladder with opportunities for internal promotion, as the academy grows. The successful candidates will be highly committed team players with the drive, energy and passion to develop Al Rabeeh Academy. 

Applicants must lead by example and play a full part in the School’s pastoral care and extra curricular activities programme. Successful applicants will need to be sympathetic with the ethos and values of Al Rabeeh Academy, a school with a high population of Emirati/Arab students. The successful candidate will be an effective leader, communicator, and be confident in establishing open communication with students, staff and parents.

Applicants must be fluent English speaking, qualified to teach in UK schools, have recent experience of the EYFS curriculum, preferably in a leadership capacity within a UK curriculum based school.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate:

  • Excellent knowledge of and proven track record of the EYFS curriulum
  • Recent experience of effective leadership and a desire to be an outstanding leader
  • An outstanding classroom practioner who leads by example
  • Strong emphasis and desire for all team members to be outstanding in teaching and learning
  • An ability to nurture and get the best out of people
  • Excellent knowledge of and proven track record of the EYFS curriculum
  • Lead education in a range of subjects and believe that children have the potential to reach the highest of expectations when in the right environment
  • Experience of current UK initiatives and developments
  • Capacity to support creative learning and to focus on developing 21st Century learning environments and innovation skills
  • Confidence in using IT to motivate and extend student’s learning experiences
  • Strong focus on pastoral care and be prepared to go the extra mile to get the best out of ‘our’ students
  • Commitment to whole school initiatives
  • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritise
  • Experience of using data systems for school improvement, student tracking,  intervention, Target Setting, Assessment, Recording & Reporting
