L8 – 12 £46,799 - £51,639
Required for a September 2018 start
We are looking to appoint an exceptional Teacher of History or Geography to join our Executive Leadership Group as Head of the EBacc Faculty. We are a flourishing and expanding school who achieved ‘good’ in our latest Ofsted visit. We are determined to become ‘outstanding’ and are committed to the personal and professional development of all of our staff. You will lead a forward thinking and already successful EBacc Faculty to become ‘outstanding’ through the ability to deliver a strategic vision and inspirational leadership.
We are looking to appoint a colleague who has a proven track record of raising standards in History or Geography and who can demonstrate inspirational teaching and a passion for delivering lessons which are motivational, challenging and engaging. You will need to demonstrate the energy, enthusiasm and commitment to work as part of a team which is determined to achieve ‘outstanding’. In return you will work in an exceptional and supportive environment that will further develop your professional skills and ambitions.
This role is ideal for an ambitious professional who has held responsibility for an area of leadership in History or Geography such as Head of Department and feels ready to lead their own faculty. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic, ambitious colleague to join a young and thriving faculty.
We would welcome applications from colleagues at a relatively early stage of their career who have exceptional subject knowledge, strong leadership potential and a clear understanding of how to enable all students to make outstanding progress in their learning.
An application form can be found on the school website www.golbornehigh.wigan.sch.uk and further details of the post are available upon request from Hazel Ashton. Your application should be submitted to Hazel Ashton by the closing date.
Closing date: Monday 23rd April 2018 at 12 noon
Interviews: Friday 27th April 2018
It should be noted that it is a requirement of the Governors of Golborne High School that candidates should, whenever possible, name as referees current and former employers (via Heads or Principals where employment at educational institutions is concerned)
We look forward to receiving your application should you be interested. If you have not heard from us by the interview date, you may assume that your application has been unsuccessful on this occasion. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer feedback on individual applications that are not shortlisted for interview.
