Due to the retirement of the current post holder, Croydon High School are looking for a teacher of Economics and Business with the energy and vision to drive the department forward in the next stage of its development.

Economics and Business are popular subjects at Croydon High School at A level and many of our girls go on to read Economics, Business or Management at competitive universities. The Head of Economics and Business will play a key role ensuring this continues.

They will have overall responsibility for the professional leadership and management of the department to ensure high standards of teaching and learning are delivered, resources are used efficiently and effectively and the curriculum is managed and developed in accordance with school policy.

Their key responsibilities will include:

• Contributing to whole school policy-making and strategic planning as required by the Head

• Leading and managing the department

• Promoting excellence in teaching and learning to ensure all pupils develop their potential

• Actively promoting interest in the subject outside of the immediate confines of the department

This role would suit either an experienced teacher or an early career teacher who would receive a wealth of support from staff very experienced in mentoring new teachers.
