Job overview

  • Excellent professional development opportunities

An exciting opportunity has arisen to lead our highly successful Economics & Business department through the next stage of its development. Both subjects are hugely popular options at GCSE, with 13 Business and 4 Economics classes across Key Stage 4. At A Level, Economics is oversubscribed and consistently delivers amongst the best results in the country, with almost all students achieving an A* or A grade. Of the 200 students studying the subject in the Sixth Form many go onto study it at elite Russell Group universities, with a proud tradition of progression to Oxbridge.

The successful applicant will be motivated to lead a team of highly committed subject specialists who believe there are no limits to what our students can achieve. As one of the highest performing departments in the school it is renowned for its pedagogy and academic success, and now seeks an inspirational leader who is motivated to drive student achievement to even greater heights.

This post would suit an outstanding teacher with the ambition and vision to make a success of this unique role. As well as leading the delivery of the Economics & Business curriculums there will also be the chance to shape the strategic direction of the learning area, as we begin to explore opportunities to offer a vocational Business and/or Enterprise qualification at Key Stage 4 and integrate financial literacy into the Key Stage 3 curriculum.

We are looking to appoint a colleague with a track record of delivering outstanding outcomes at GCSE and A Level in Economics and/or Business. As a middle leader, you will be a key member of our Teaching and Learning Group and work alongside our talented team of Lead Teachers to drive up standards across the school.

Brampton Manor is a high achieving 11-18 school with over 2000 pupils on roll. We are oversubscribed in the pre and post 16 age groups. In 2012 and 2018, we were graded outstanding in all categories by Ofsted. GCSE and A Level results in 2017 are among the best in Newham and the region. There is a distinctive ethos within our school, which combines a relatively informal supportive approach with a sharp focus on learning and achievement.

Please visit our website www.bramptonmanor.org to apply and obtain further details about this role. All completed application forms should be sent by email to jobs@bramptonmanor.org

Brampton Manor Trust is an equal opportunities employer. We are fully committed to the safeguarding of children.  Enhanced DBS, Barred List and Prohibition checks will always be carried out on new employees.
