The Fortune Centre of Riding Therapy is an Independent Specialist Provider, which includes a residential Further Education Through Horsemastership Course for young adults with learning difficulties/disabilities. 

Teaching is horse based and learning is through the transfer of skills from caring for horses and yard duties to independent living skills.   

Due to promotion, we are looking for a qualified teacher, who is also a qualified equestrian. 

The Fortune Centre of Riding Therapy is a residential provision; the job therefore involves evening and weekend duties, and a requirement to be ‘on call’ as necessary. 

Experience in a residential educational environment with young adults who have high needs, together with extensive equine experience, are essential. To be successful, you must have a PGCE or degree in education, and have proven ability to manage, train and develop a group of colleagues.    

Salary range £34,000 to £39,000 gross per annum

Fortune College is a specialist college for young people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities aged 16-25. 

The college’s Further Education Through Horsemastership (FETH) Course offers an educational residential/day programme, working with horses, that prepares young people with learning disabilities to live as independently as possible and participate in their local community. 

The college provides the opportunity to achieve accredited qualifications, develop communication skills, independent living skills, self confidence and skills for working life.
