Job overview

Since 1989, Five Rivers Child Care has been helping children rediscover their childhoods. In our Education service we offer a range of supportive and safe learning environments for those children and young people where mainstream and other school settings have not worked.

As Head of our Education Service you will be a vital part of our continuing success story to ensure every child can achieve and grow. The role demands an exceptional team - come and lead that team.

We are looking for a pioneer to shape and develop our service. You will work closely with our Assessment & Therapy and our Residential Services as part of a ‘one team ‘approach.  We offer you the opportunity to be part of a special social enterprise company, to work directly with our clinicians, to realise your vision and to turn children’s lives around.

We will look to you to bring an energetic and motivational approach, along with your senior leadership experience and knowledge from working in an SEMH or special needs setting.

The role is a permanent contract worked over 52 weeks in a year. It is based primarily in Salisbury with travel to our other three facilities in Kent, Leeds and Somerset - for which we offer a car allowance of £5000.

Our Job Description gives the full detail of the responsibilities and we look forward to hearing how you would like to be part of improving our children’s lives.

Since 1989 Five Rivers has existed to provide safety for children who have been abused or are in need of specialist care. We set clear boundaries, providing a structure to help children rediscover or perhaps experience for the first time a true sense of self-worth.

All of the Five Rivers services are run on the same ethos. We provide as normal an environment as possible , whilst always recognising the individual qualities of the children and young people in our care along with their own unique set of problems. Our highly skilled personnel provide specialist care to meet the specific requirements of each individual.

These services vary from foster care to intensive singleton placements and Education services, We also have the flexibility to offer emergency and medium stay residential placements.
