 Lincolnshire County Council is looking to recruit a Head of Education to join our Lincolnshire Secure Unit multi-disciplinary Education team.

Salary £48,252

(Basic Salary: £38,628 + 5% Secure Allowance: £1,931.40 +TLR: £7,692.60)

Please note that this is not a term time only vacancy as we offer education provision for 42 weeks of the year.

Lincolnshire Secure Unit is situated in the market town of Sleaford approximately 20 miles south of Lincoln. The unit opened in March 1997 and provides care and education for 12 young people (aged 10 – 17) in a setting that combines modern standards of design and security with a professional but homely atmosphere.  The unit has earned a very positive reputation both locally and nationally for the service it provides.  Lincolnshire Secure Unit promotes the use of Restorative Justice, as this is key in helping young people take responsibility for their actions and enabling them to lead a more positive future.

About the role:

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and well qualified Head of Education to join our education provision.  Your ability to motivate and enthuse our young people and your ability to adopt a flexible and stimulating approach to learning is essential.  We are very well resourced and have a purpose built Education wing.

As Head of Education you will provide leadership and management which enables Lincolnshire Secure Unit to give every young person high quality education and which promotes the highest possible standards of achievement and well-being for all.

About you:

We are looking for a creative, innovative and enthusiastic leader for the Lincolnshire Secure Unit multi-disciplinary Education team. You will have the ability to provide care and control to young people who can display aggressive and challenging behaviour whilst assisting to help make a difference in their lives.

Qualified Teacher Status and leadership experience at Senior Management level are essential for this role.
