What happens when you combine an innovative curriculum with first-class teaching skills and an absolute focus on meeting the needs of young adults with Asperger’s syndrome, autistic spectrum disorders, SEMH and a range of additional complex learning and communication needs?

You get Priory College South Wales, part of Priory Education and Children’s Services, the UK’s leading independent provider of specialist education and care.

And we are now looking for a talented Head of Education to join us.

This is no ordinary college. We were set up in partnership with Coleg Gwent – the largest further education college in Wales – to meet the academic, social and emotional needs of young people aged 16 to 25 in our care. Since then, we’ve grown into a high-performing, thriving and independent specialist college recognised by Etsyn as having some excellent, sector-leading practice.

As an exceptional and highly motivated Head of Education, you will work alongside the College Manager to drive our continuing success. This will involve liaising with the rest of the education team, the host college and other agencies to lead and manage the development of our curriculum and individual student education programmes. We will rely on you to monitor and evaluate all aspects of college life and to maintain a relentless focus on enabling all learners to raise their achievement both within the college and beyond.

In short, you will use your expertise to inspire others, build strong relationships and consolidate our reputation for first-class service provision.

This role calls for a detailed knowledge of the full range of externally accredited courses and proven ability to manage and lead a diverse education team.  Familiarity with relevant statutory regulations, guidelines, governance and quality standards is also essential, and you must understand both traditional and alternative educational models. But technical expertise alone is not enough. You must be a strong team player with the resilience and vision to drive standards of performance and create a positive and happy environment where everyone achieves.

Along with an attractive compensation package, you will enjoy Teachers Terms and Conditions including the Teachers’ Pension Scheme, an excellent induction, ongoing professional development and the kind of prospects you would expect from the market-leading Priory Group.
