This is a rare opportunity to lead our thriving English department. We are a school with a strong history of students achieving highly in English and we are looking for an exceptional leader to take our English department to even greater heights of excellence. This is an exciting time to join our school as we embark on a new school improvement plan and build on our ‘Good’ Ofsted rating from February 2022. 

Fostering a lifelong love of literature and reading, as well as supporting all our students to communicate effectively is at the heart of our ethos. “Leadership, including governance, is good and improving. Shared ambitions ensure that senior leaders and middle managers have high expectations for the school. As a result, student outcomes have improved continuously since the previous inspection. Students do well in their GCSE examinations, especially in science, humanities, languages and performing arts. The development of students’ numeracy and literacy skills is particularly strong across the curriculum … Students’ behaviour is excellent as shown in high levels of concentration in lessons and in the way they take responsibility for their own learning.”
