Ofsted visited us last week and we now want to appoint key staff who will appreciate that this gives them the time and space to build something truly remarkable. This really is an excellent time for the right candidate to flourish and build something amazing.
Our Academy is set in a beautiful cliff-top location at the head of the Fowey Estuary and our natural environment shapes and influences the way we teach and work. We want a curriculum that maximises outdoor learning, stimulates creativity and productivity and, as we are based in an area with strong literature connections, instil a love of reading and creative writing.
Fowey River Academy embraces the use of new technologies, providing 1:1 iPad devices for each child and an iPad and MacBook for each member of staff. We would welcome applicants who are innovative in their use of IT and can develop their use as a strategy to raise standards across the curriculum.

About Fowey River Academy
Fowey River Academy is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school situated in Fowey, Cornwall. There are approximately 684 students at the school, between the ages of 11-16.
Fowey River Academy was established in 1692 as Fowey Free School, opening to 30 pupils from low income families. The school has since been a boarding and grammar school throughout the years. In 2014, it received academy status, changing its name from Fowey Community College to Fowey River Academy.
