Job overview

We are looking for an inspirational and energetic practitioner to be responsible for all aspects of English across the whole School.

The successful candidate will be either primary or secondary trained with an appropriate degree and a teaching qualification and able to teach up to Year 8 including Scholarship level.

The post is offered on a full-time basis and therefore the ability to teach another subject including games/PE would be desirable.

At Edge Grove we are looking for excellent teaching skills, drive, imagination and the ability to motivate pupils in order to bring out the best in them.  The person appointed will work well in a small team and show initiative when working with colleagues and pupils.

Following the appointment of our current Head, Ben Evans, to Windlesham School in Sussex after 8 years of outstanding service, we are very pleased to welcome Lisa McDonald as our new Head from September 2020.

Lisa is currently Deputy Head of the British International School in New York which is a sister school to Abercorn School in central London and educates over 300 pupils from the age of three to sixteen. It teaches the English National Curriculum within the framework of the International Baccalaureate and serves a culturally diverse student population. Pupils go on to the top schools in New York with a number returning to boarding schools in the UK, both processes that Lisa is closely involved with.
