Job overview

As our Head of English, Maths and Employability, you will be a key member of the College Management Group which consists of one Deputy Head of School from each School and Managers from other areas of the college support service. The group will work together with the Assistant Principal to ensure that we deliver on our key priorities. You will also work closely with South Thames College Group (STCG) and Kingston College Senior Management Team colleagues to deliver a robust cross Kingston College/STCG service.


We’re looking for an individual who holds a relevant professional qualification and who has excellent teaching and/or pastoral skills along with a history of good students’ outcomes. With a track record of leading and managing change, you will have demonstrable experience of working with subjects/courses that required improvement and achieving improvement and have an understanding of managing students who are under-achieving and/or showing high risk behaviours and conduct.


Qualifications that allow you to work for awarding bodies (EVs), Ofsted, AQQ and the like would be advantageous, as would experience of secondments and/or placements with relevant employers.


This position is for maternity cover and is based at Kingston College.
