Arthur Mellows is an Ofsted Outstanding school located in the village of Glinton on the outskirts of Peterborough. The school is very successful and over-subscribed, with 1680 students aged 11-18, supported by a talented and hard-working staff.
The Governors wish to appoint a suitably experienced and qualified Head of Faculty to join and lead a highly successful and innovative English Department. Facilities and resources within the Department are excellent. Staff are extremely supportive with a clear focus on exceptional outcomes for all.
Students are well behaved and committed learners. Students are enthusiastic about English, as evidenced by the strong results at KS4, with a high take up rate into KS5.
The successful candidate will be someone who is:

Arthur Mellows Village College is a vibrant, oversubscribed 11-18 comprehensive, situated in a very pleasant rural village between Peterborough and Stamford. Ofsted graded the College as ‘Outstanding’ for a second time in December 2014. Behaviour is excellent and students are keen to learn,
- 70% of all level 2 qualifications (GCSE’s) are awarded at the equivalent of grade 4 or above.
- Over 20% of all level 2 qualifications (GCSE’s) are awarded at the equivalent of grade 7 or above.
- At A level over 29% of grades are A* or A.
- KS5 vocational students achieved over 65% at Distinction*/Distinction
