Are you an enthusiastic English specialist who may have already had experience either running, or helping to run, a Department? If so Head of English at Southchurch High School could be your next career move.  You will be able to lead through encouragement and enthusiasm as well as exemplary classroom practice.  You will be responsible for leading and managing a team of experienced and dedicated teachers, and have the ability to provide clear, effective guidance to colleagues, developing their teaching practice as well as maximising standards of student attainment.

Applicants should have excellent administrative skills and be able to demonstrate a dynamic and creative approach to teaching, a passion for the subject and the necessary skills and vision to enhance further the excellent teaching and learning within the department.  A commitment to excellent pastoral care is expected.

The successful candidate will be expected to play a significant part in the School’s development and have the vision, imagination and ability to foster team spirit as well as a real passion for learning and teaching, strong leadership skills and a commitment to helping young people succeed against the odds.
