Head of Faculty English

Developing future school leaders is an integral part of the Academy’s approach to its professional development of staff at all levels. If you are a dynamic teacher, with leadership experience, looking for a faculty in which to develop your ability to lead and manage colleagues, we can offer a rewarding environment in which   to teach. 

We are now looking to employ an ambitious middle leader with the ability to enthuse and inspire both staff and students in the role of Head of Faculty of English. The successful candidate will drive student engagement and be able to co-ordinate and implement effective strategies that ensure rapid and sustained progress for   all learners.

This role would be suitable for either: 

• an ambitious second in English, a lead practitioner, or an outstanding teacher looking for a further challenge 
• or an experienced head of department who wishes to focus on teaching and learning in an academy that is committed to   developing its staff to improve outcomes for all. 

Candidates must have the ability to inspire both staff and students, to improve outcomes both in the short term and to transform English teaching at the academy in the years ahead. Candidates should also have a proven track record of high quality teaching and should be able to provide evidence of securing excellent progress outcomes and consistent high attainment with their examination groups. The successful candidate must be confident, an excellent communicator and able to motivate all members of the team to drive forward their own teaching, results and professional development.
