Looking for an ambitious candidate who can provide strong leadership to our science department and ensure that pupils of all abilities are engaged in their learning and make excellent progress.

BYJHS is an all girls high school academy in Salford, Manchester. Our pupils are bright and motivated and have achieved consistently high outcomes over the last 5 years, during which we have been in top 1-3% nationally on Progress 8 measures.

The role of Head of Faculty for Science is an essential  role in our continued development and the successful  candidate will be an experienced leader with a commitment to research-based best practice, an outstanding teacher and a genuine team player.

Key responsibilities include:

  • To lead the Science Faculty, incorporating: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Computing/Computer Science 

• To continue to develop an innovative and progressive science curriculum, which is supported by a vibrant programme of enrichment activities.

• To provide strong leadership to the Science Department so that teaching and learning is consistently good or better and staff are constantly developing in their roles.

• To ensure that all young people make at least expected progress and that ambitious targets for student performance are met in all Key Stages.

• As part of the school’s wider leadership, to be a positive role model and constantly promote the school’s ethos and vision.
