Job overview

These are exciting times for North Cestrian School. As a recently formed Free School we have embarked on an ambitious programme of growth and high standards. We are seeking to appoint teachers to help shape this popular school so that its pupils and staff thrive and go on to lead rich and fulfilling lives.

North Cestrian School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic, dynamic and committed professional to join their school in September 2017.

Our vision is to provide an environment to allow every child to achieve their full potential in whatever sphere their talents lie by offering broad academic and extra-curricular opportunities within an education community. We insist on high standards of behaviour which promotes excellent behaviour for learning. Our strict approach to these standards encourages a culture of learning from the very first day of attendance for each pupil in school.

An Independent Grammar School since 1951, we successfully converted to a co-educational 11-16 Free School as part of the Hamblin Education Trust in September 2016. The Free School opened with 393 pupils. Our initial Year 7 intake was 126 and we expect the school to increase year by year until 2020, rising gradually to over 700 pupils.

We have also recently secured funding of over £7million to allow the expansion to provide a superb learning environment across the site for the increasing numbers.

We can offer:

  • A strong commitment to professional development
  • An environment which is conducive to learning
  • A competitive salary scale

You will be:

  • Able to sustain and grow the popularity of subjects within the Faculty
  • Responsible for developing key performance indicators in line with the School’s expectations
  • Expected to ensure all lesson observations are Good or higher in the Faculty.
  • Passionate in the delivery of the declared values and mission statement of North Cestrian School
  • Able to inspire and lead staff within the faculty to achieve the desired outcomes

All teachers at North Cestrian School are expected to be aware of and subscribe to the School’s academic and pastoral mission and to maintain high personal and professional standards in all their dealings with pupils and parents.
