The Academy
Nunthorpe is a very popular outstanding co-educational 11 – 19 comprehensive converter Academy with approximately 1610 students on roll.
Nunthorpe Academy is the lead Teaching School in the North East Schools Teaching Alliance – NESTA. Through this ‘school led’ system of self-improvement we focus on the key areas of School to School Support; Professional Development; Specialist Leaders of Education and Initial Teacher Training & Succession Planning
The Faculty
Nunthorpe Academy’s MFL Faculty is an experienced and well established team, comprised of 4 full time teachers, 3 part time teachers and a Faculty Support Assistant.
The Faculty offers GCSE French, German and Spanish at KS4 and A Level French, German and Spanish at KS5.
The Candidate
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, dynamic and well-qualified Head of Faculty for Modern Foreign Languages, to lead, inspire and continue to develop a strong and effective team.
The applicant would ideally have a German specialism and the energy and commitment to teach pupils of all ages and abilities up to, and including, GCSE.
The ability to teach other languages to Key stage 4, would be an advantage.
The successful candidate will have the ability to deliver consistently outstanding lessons across all Key Stages and be ambitious for the achievement of every student in their care.
