Exeter College has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dynamic leader to join the college’s leadership team as Head of Faculty for Sport, Leisure and Tourism.

Working collaboratively with the Director of Vocational and Technical Education, you will lead a highly successful team with an outstanding reputation for teaching, learning and assessment. You will oversee the delivery of an exceptional curriculum offer along with opportunities that add value to a student’s experience and progression options. The faculty boasts a wide and diverse curriculum with courses ranging from vocational programmes at level two and three to A levels, adult courses and higher education. To compliment the curriculum, students have the opportunity to engage in a wide range of trips, visits and enrichment activities and can also represent the college by playing for one of the successful sports teams. To support our offer the faculty benefits from state-of-the-art facilities including a brand-new gym, a 3G all-weather pitch, and a large sports hall. In some of our more vocational areas students have the opportunity to study and learn in an actual industry environment, such as our Outdoor Adventure courses that are delivered at Haven Banks Outdoor Education Centre on Exeter quayside and our Travel and Tourism courses that spend part of the week at the newly developed Centre for Future Skills based next to Exeter Airport.  To ensure our curriculum is current and responsive to the needs of industry, the faculty works closely with key partners and stakeholders including Devon County Council, Exeter City Council, the University of Exeter, Exeter City Football Club and Exeter Chiefs Rugby Club.

As well as a genuine passion for this area of the curriculum, you will need to be forward-thinking, creative and driven to provide the very best learning experiences for students.  You will need to have experience of leadership and management in a variety of situations as well as excellent communication skills and a drive to move a faculty forward.
