The Head of Faculty (Technology and Life Sciences) is a key strategic role, providing expertise and leadership in curriculum design and implementation across the Schools of Engineering, Green Technologies and Logistics; Sustainable Construction and Building Services; Health, Social Care, Sport and Public Services, and the Digital Academy. The role will be instrumental in further developing and implementing a consistent research-informed pedagogical approach, drawing upon international best practice and regional and national policies and expectations. The role will implement strategies that build upon lessons learnt from the ‘pandemic years’ to take the best parts of a blended learning approach to support catch up learning, reinforcement and the stretch and challenge of all learners within the Faculty. The Head of Faculty will develop, and be the key link for, key employers and industry trailblazers within the city region and beyond. The role will use these links to enhance the curriculum offer and teachers’ knowledge and skills, leveraging these relationships to support the role of dual professionals within the Faculty.
The Head of Faculty (Technology and Life Sciences) will be a supportive member of the Strategic Leadership Team which drives a culture of high performance and aspiration across all areas of the College. The post-holder will, from time to time, deputise for the Vice Principal Curriculum Development and Innovation, and directly support The Dean for Higher Education, Dean for Academic Studies, College Directors and the Head of Faculty (Culture and Visitor Economy) in delivering an outstanding student experience for all students.

Opened in 1992 after being formed from a number of colleges in the city we now have 5 locations situated in the heart of Liverpool. Currently the college serves more than a third of all 16-18 year olds in Liverpool, and educates almost 12,000 learners a year. In 2018 the college achieved a pass rate of 99.6% beating the national average of 97.6% for a-level results. Within this year as well we had a 100% pass rate in modern languages.
However, the college itself is not just facts and figures. The mission statement of provide high quality skills and education by delivering opportunities for growth to all people and business of the Liverpool City region, shows inclusivity and a community understanding. The ease in which to get here helps quite a lot to. Be it driving, buses, trains or even a ferry you are never short of options.
Being that working/living in Liverpool does offer a wide range of experiences to have. Historical buildings like the Bombed out church, Royal court theatre house or even a hidden gem like the Bluecoat School lane which boasts being the oldest building in Liverpool. The Beatles museum is a popular place to explore the band and possible find bits out about them you might not have known. Or if just unwinding and relaxing there are multiple pubs/bars, restaurants, and comedy nights to enjoy.
