An exciting opportunity has arisen to join us as our Head of Finance, reporting to the Director of Finance.  You will be a key and proactive member of the College Leadership Team, and have responsibility for the management of the finance team.

We are seeking to appoint a Head of Finance to provide a comprehensive, high quality and professional financial management and control service to the Salford City College Group.  Acting as a key adviser to budget holders on financial issues, you will play a significant role in ensuring effective financial stewardship and seeking opportunities to improve systems and processes to enhance services provided to stakeholders. The Head of Finance is required to be proactive in managing our finances to support the College to achieve its strategic objectives, whilst also assisting the Director of Finance in the strategic financial and risk management of the College.

You will be CCAB / CIMA qualified, with significant and recent experience in the public or third sector.  Our ideal candidate would have significant and recent experience of managing finances in the education sector (e.g. FE, HE, MAT), and a good understanding of the challenges faced in the sector.

You will have an outstanding track record in system and process enhancement, outstanding communication and organisational skills, and be strongly committed to working with the College’s values and ethos.  You must demonstrate the ability to lead a comprehensive financial management service and team, and advise on financial matters affecting the College.  You will have considerable drive, and be positive about change and innovation.
