Job overview

Location: 183 Eversholt Street, London NW1 1BU

Academies Enterprise Trust is the largest multi-academy trust (MAT) in the country with a national network of 63 primary, special and secondary academies across England. Under new leadership, with an entirely new executive team and new Trust Board members, AET is now a radically different organisation.  School improvement, governance and finance have been overhauled as part of a trust-wide programme to reform and renew AET and, as such, this is an exciting time to join the organisation.

We are committed to making sure that AET provides a professional, high quality and consistent finance service to our academies to support AET’s vision to become not just the biggest, but the best national MAT.  Children are at the heart of everything we do, and it is our mission to provide first rate education that enables them to thrive in the whole of their lives. This must be supported by efficient, rigorous financial control.   To help achieve this we are building a new central finance team, which means we are recruiting to a number of roles.

Working alongside the Chief Finance Officer, you will spend significant time partnering with the Executive team.  With ambitious plans, this role is a pivotal position within the Trust.  You will play an important role in providing financial information, and delivery of financial forecasts, reporting on business performance and providing insightful financial analysis to support the Trust.

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant with an excellent track record in leading financial planning and analysis in a complex organisation. You will be able to demonstrate strong hands on experience and significant problem-solving skills through analysis of complex data. Throughout your career you will have managed change proactively. First class stakeholder management and emotional intelligence skills will be required.

AET believes that all young people deserve to become world-class learners – to learn, enjoy, succeed and thrive in a first rate educational environment with the best facilities, the best teaching and the most up-to-date resources available to them.  In each of our academies, you will benefit from visionary, inspirational and dynamic leadership and be empowered to develop your own skills with access to world-class CPD and Talent Management programmes.  You will also be entitled to the following benefits: a health cash plan, vehicle affinity scheme and childcare vouchers.

This position is required to commence as soon as possible.

Closing date: Friday 6 April 2018

This will see us building our in-house education improvement capacity and expertise, making sure that our schools have all the support they need to deliver an excellent education for every child, every day.

Our people are our single greatest resource and we want to make sure we are creating the optimum environment and conditions so that everyone in AET can do their very best work.
