Copleston High School is a popular 11 - 18 mixed comprehensive noted for its caring and disciplined atmosphere. There is a flourishing sixth form with around 280 students. As a school we are committed to raising standards of learning and teaching within all subject areas. You will be impressed by the outstanding sports facilities available to staff, students and the wider community.

As our Head of Food and Textiles, you will be developing, leading and managing effective delivery of the curriculum that enables the highest level of pupil progress and attainment. You will be responsible for raising attainment at all key stages and develop Food and Textiles to the highest standard. We are looking for someone who is able to observe, mentor and provide guidance to teachers in the department.

The ability to teach the subject at A level and / or another subject will be advantageous.

About Copleston High School

Copleston High School is a mixed, non-denominational academy secondary school and sixth form for pupils aged 11-18. It caters for about 1,800 pupils, plus a further 350 in the sixth form. The school was established in 1939 as two separate boys' and girls' secondary moderns. It is now operated by the Copleston High School Academies Trust.

It believes that young people should communicate effectively, co-operate in teams, use new technology with confidence, develop research skills, and take responsibility for their own learning. However, it also believes that looking forward should not be at the expense of traditional standards.
