We are seeking an ambitious, passionate and imaginative languages teacher to join and complement the friendly, supportive and dedicated professionals across the school and within our MFL team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the teaching of French, in collaboration with our whole departmental team, and especially with the Head of Spanish.

About the Role

Marshland High School has a reputation for excellent student behaviour and educational outcomes, making it the school of first choice within the community it serves.   Our school is consistently placed within the top 20% of schools nationally for progress.  We are seeking an ambitious, passionate and imaginative languages teacher to join and complement the friendly, supportive and dedicated professionals across the school and within our MFL team. This is an exciting prospect to support and develop French language teaching in the school, working in collaboration with our Head of Spanish, to ensure the best experience possible for our language students. You will share your passion for language learning with the students and make an important contribution to our department, teaching French up to KS4. It is desirable that you can also (or are willing to learn to) teach Spanish at KS3. 


Main Duties and Responsibilities, but not limited to:

Responsibilities

·        To meet all requirements of the Teachers’ Standards.

·         Within the designated curriculum area, to implement, deliver and contribute to the published scheme of work.

·        To shape the learning experience to motivate and encourage students to achieve their full potential.

·        To monitor the progress of students and provide support to ensure personal and academic growth.  

 

Teaching and Learning Responsibilities

·        To deliver the designated programme of teaching as presented in the published scheme of work.

·        To use a variety of delivery methods to stimulate learning, appropriate to student abilities.

·        To prepare and update subject materials.

·        To ensure a high quality learning experience for students that meets internal and external quality standards.

·        Within the guidance presented in the school Assessment Policy and using appropriate I.T. systems, to assess, record and report on the attendance, progress, development and attainment of students.

·        To take part in Parent/Carer Information Evenings
