The International School is a friendly and caring 11-16 school serving 700 pupils from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures. We pride ourselves on the positive relationships that thrive within our diverse school population.
The school is on a journey out of special measures. Our summer results showing 500 higher grades than last year across the curriculum. In our fourth and most recent monitoring visit on 26th and 27th April, HMI have once again judged that leaders are taking effective action for the removal of special measures. Reporting that ‘Pupils are engaged in and value their learning’ and ‘Teaching is characterised by highly positive relationships between teachers and pupils’. The full report from this visit is available on our website www.tisbham.org.uk
Teaching and learning is improving, staff training is delivered weekly and we have fantastic support from our IEB, The BEP and BCTSA. The school is now led by an entirely new SLT who are driving the positive changes with a view to successfully removing special measures. In addition our new behaviour policy has been very well received by pupils and they are unanimous that it has made a considerable difference to standards of behaviour across the school. Staff are galvanised and positively focused in their efforts to improve the school; Middle Leadership is also quickly driving improvements through systematic monitoring and evaluation processes. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all our staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
