Job overview

A dynamic, enthusiastic and committed Geography teacher is required to head our Geography department. You will lead an active, forward-thinking department, to teach across Key Stages 3 and 4 and the whole ability range, working together to create an extremely positive learning culture based on high expectations, the building of Geography skills and a huge passion for your subject.

The role offers excellent opportunities for a well-qualified, creative specialist who will build on the success of the department and who is willing to commit to extra-curricular activities that add value to the school and community.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of success; will be able to contribute to a high performing and innovative faculty, taking responsibility for the leadership of Geography.

The department’s success is reflected throughout this ambitious and consistently oversubscribed 11-16 academy which is the lead school in the Ninestiles Academy Trust comprising Ninestiles itself, Lyndon School, Cockshut Hill School, four primary schools and The Sixth Form College. Our  commitment to excellence is recognised nationally and internationally and the school achieved outstanding in all categories in its last Ofsted inspection – for the fourth time; an achievement of which the school is justly proud. Ninestiles is a Teaching School which offers further opportunities for career development in working with other schools.

We welcome applications from both existing and aspiring heads of subject. If you would like an application form or further details, please visit our website http://www.ninestilesacademytrust.org.uk/careers/ Alternatively you can contact the school office on 0121 628 1311 or recruitment@ninestiles.org.uk.
