Haberdashers' Hatcham College is seeking to appoint a new Head of Geography. This is an exciting opportunity for a talented educator to lead a vibrant department, deliver outstanding lessons, and set the highest academic standards across all age and ability ranges. The successful candidate will cultivate a positive, inclusive culture where students are motivated to achieve their full potential, while also playing a key role within the broader Humanities team. With safeguarding and student welfare at the heart of everything we do, you will champion excellent behaviour for learning, support curriculum innovation, and ensure that Geography continues to thrive as a subject.

As Head of Department, you will be responsible for developing strategies that drive effective lesson planning, assessment, and teaching practice. You will oversee marking and feedback in line with school policies, lead on internal examinations, and support colleagues' professional growth. We are looking for someone who is passionate about subject knowledge, keeps up to date with the latest developments in Geography education, and is committed to using a range of teaching methods, resources, and technologies to enhance learning experiences.

For the right candidate, there may also be opportunities for trust-level work and school-to-school support across the wider Haberdashers’ Academies Trust South, contributing to strategic initiatives and supporting the development of Geography teaching beyond Hatcham College.
