Job overview

Moon Hall school is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and inspirational Teacher to lead Girls Games and to teach PE.

Moon Hall is thriving and we have experienced over 40% growth in pupil numbers in the past 3 years. We are a mainstream school, however we are a specialist school and all pupils who attend Moon Hall are Dyslexic.

We are hugely ambitious for our pupils and want them to be the best version of themselves in all areas. We are also keen to nurture and support our pupils and the successful individual will be skilled in ensuring that we push our pupils to be competitive whilst also ensuring that the pupils feel looked after. We have some excellent sportsmen and women at the school, however we also have some pupils who are dyspraxic and may need gentle encouragement to participate and feel good about themselves on the sportsfield.

We will be installing new sports facilities over the Summer and the girls will have an all weather surface to practice their sporting technique on school grounds. In addition to these new facilities, we have an abundance of space and open areas for the games lessons to take place.

We are looking for an individual to lead the Games provision for the girls at our school and also to teach PE lessons to both boys and girls. You will be joining a supportive, friendly and welcoming staff and parent community.

If you want to inspire our wonderful pupils, if you feel you can make a difference to a child's education, then we welcome an application from you.

Full time considered if combined with the Science teacher role (also advertised)

Please complete the application and return to the Heads PA, Mrs Tina Howland howlandt@moonhall.co.uk

Interviews will take place the week of 26th April.

Moon Hall School Reigate is a Mainstream Dyslexia Specialist school. We begin at year 3 and our oldest pupils leave in year 11.

We give our pupils the opportunity to access the mainstream curriculum and to close the gap between current attainment and what they should be achieving. Through appropriate curricular provision we respect the fact that pupils require different strategies for learning, acquire, assimilate and communicate information at different rates and need a range of teaching approaches and experiences.

Our aim is for all pupils to be independent learners.

Headteacher

Michelle Catterson BSc, PGCE, SpLD Level 3

BDA Board Trustee and APPG member for Dyslexia

Mission and Aim

We aim to help and support every pupil to achieve their full academic and co-curricular potential, teaching to each individual’s ability. Although literacy and numeracy are the main priorities on the curriculum, Moon Hall School also wants the pupil to have personal development to succeed as adults in the 'real world'. The school values aspiration, courage, resilience and ambition.

ISI report

“The quality of the pupils’ overall achievement and learning, including the EYFS, is excellent. The pupils are well educated in line with the school’s aims to give them the confidence and skills to access the curriculum. Pupils are successful in team and individual activities. These include winning art prizes in a local festival and recognition in a national poetry competition. Pupils play hockey at county level. All pupils overcome their difficulties, and their varied starting points, these results demonstrate that the pupils achieve extremely well at GCSE. The pupils’ attitude to their work and learning is usually extremely positive.”
