About the role
We are seeking to appoint a passionate and inspirational teaching leader to further drive Girls' PE provision at Grey Court. The post would suit an experienced teacher with a degree in Physical Education/Sport and a proven track record of playing and coaching high level sport. The girls department specialises in netball, football, basketball, tennis, gymnastics and athletics.
The successful applicant will be expected to lead all aspects of the Girls’ PE programme at Grey Court, coordinating the work of staff in charge of individual sports, and overseeing the provision for and involvement of girls within the extra-curricular programme which takes place before, during and after school. They will therefore have strong interpersonal skills and be a good motivator of pupils and colleagues. We are looking for an outstanding classroom practitioner with the ability, imagination and flair to engage and motivate our young people.
Grey Court PE is an outstanding department. We achieved 100% 9-4 GCSE grades in 2019 with 44% achieving grades 9-7. In our post 16 provision we achieved 100% pass rate at D* to Merit. We thrive in our extra curricular sport in terms of the activities we provide and the success we achieve. We also run a very successful sports scholarship programme in year 7 for selected students who then follow onto elite programmes from year 8 onwards.
Grey Court delivers both GCSE and 6th form BTEC and the successful candidate will lead the BTEC programme.

We are looking for someone to inspire our young people, and ensure that they all progress and excel in their learning.
You will be expected to contribute to the highly successful results of our ambitious PE Faculty, which exceeds national attainment levels and ensures that Grey Court continues to have high aspirations for all our students. You must be a good team member able to deliver an outstanding experience in all PE lessons. You will have a strong commitment to high standards of classroom practice alongside a genuine regard for inspiring progress and quality of education for all our young people, regardless of academic ability. You will be expected to show initiative and take control in advancing schemes of work and resources to meet the evolving demands of the PE/Sports curriculum.
