As a successful Group of schools with a comprehensive programme of co-curricular activities, the Sherborne Schools Group (SSG) has a wide-ranging risk profile and is required to comply with an extensive framework of regulatory and other standards. The post’s focus is on the Health & Safety of pupils, staff, contractors, visitors and others who may be affected by the group’s undertakings, including both on-site and during off-site activities.

Providing advice and support to the school communities in order to ensure that all health, safety and fire legislation and relevant standards are adhered to, and policies and practices are adopted.

To provide expert skills and knowledge to the school communities in order to generate and promote a positive health and safety culture.

To plan, implement, monitor and review the protective and preventative measures and work to minimise accidents, injuries and occupational health problems.

This is a permanent role working 40 hours per week. Hours of work are likely to be 8.30am – 5.00pm Monday to Friday with a 30 minute lunch (unpaid) but flexibility in hours will be required on occasion to meet the demands of the post.

Salary: Circa £50,000 per annum depending on skills, qualifications and experience.
