Responsible to: Head of Humanities 

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Head of History on a permanent basis from September 2018 to lead a highly successful department within the Humanities team. You will need to be passionate about History and keen to pass that enthusiasm on to learners in creative and engaging ways. 

You will be leading a department with a strong identity and experienced staff, including two specialists who are in middle and senior leadership. Our Acting Head of History will continue as a classroom teacher, relinquishing his current role due to promotion to a pastoral role. You will be part of a forward thinking and dynamic faculty that achieves some excellent results. The department is well resourced, but you will have the opportunity to develop exciting and challenging schemes of work which reflect the changes currently taking place within the History curriculum at all Key Stages.
