Head of History required September 2023 TLR 2C (negotiable for outstanding candidate)

A fantastic opportunity to lead an outstanding department. We are seeking to appoint a passionate and dynamic Head of History for September 2023. You will be an outstanding teacher who has a passion for your subject. This is an excellent opportunity to lead a key and successful department in one of the oldest Catholic Boys schools in England and is an excellent foundation for further career progression in a high achieving school.

We seek a leader who has strong academic track record of success at KS4 and KS5, who can build on the History department's excellent past performance. 

Our most recent Ofsted in February 2020 rated the College ‘Good’ in all areas.

The successful candidate would be a passionate and dynamic teacher of History committed to raising the achievements of our students. You will be joining a strong, enthusiastic, subject specialist team within a College with a record of academic success:

• Ranked 25th nationally of all Non-Selective Boys School for Progress 8.

• A Peter Jones Business Academy (part of a select group of schools nationally) providing exclusive resources, courses and competitions that enable all our students throughout the College to develop skills needed to be successful in their future lives. 

• Free use for staff of swimming pool and modern gym facilities

As a key core subject, History is a popular option at KS4 and also popular at KS5, where in addition to A Level History, the department offers A Level Government & Politics. The successful applicant will be passionate about their subject, be well organised and willing to go the “extra mile” to ensure pupils achieve.
