An exciting opportunity has become available for an outstanding Hockey Coach to take up the position as Head of Hockey at Ardingly College. The role will involve bringing together the Prep and Senior School under a single and integrated Hockey coaching system.
The post holder will coordinate and manage delivery of the Hockey Programme for the entire College in liaison with the Head of Boys’ and Girls’ Games in the Prep School, the Hockey Development Officer and the Director of Sport.
Hockey is the major sport for girls in the Michaelmas term and for boys in the Lent term.
We are looking for candidates with a professional Hockey background and/or from a teaching background.
The successful candidate should have a proven track record of working with talented young players ideally from U8-U18 girls and boys. Excellent organisational skills are essential and the ability to lead a very talented group of coaches, some of whom are currently playing premiership Hockey, will be required.
The ability to develop strong links with local Hockey clubs in the area will also be important. This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to build on the already strong reputation of Ardingly Hockey and help create a clear developmental pathway for Hockey that runs right through the School.
Willingness to participate in the school’s busy co-curricular programme is essential. The ability to coach a summer sport (Tennis, Cricket or Athletics) would also be an advantage.
