Head of Humanities Required for September 2019 in Unique City of London Location

We are seeking a Head of Humanities teaching History and R.E. and experience with teaching classics maybe an advantage.

You will be joining a forward-looking, innovative Prep-School, within a thriving and supportive department, teaching bright, motivated boys and girls. The role will suit either an existing Head of Department or an ambitious History/R.E. teacher looking for their first step towards leadership.

Working in a friendly, warm environment, you will be involved in the whole life of St Paul’s Cathedral School, playing to your strengths and interests wherever possible.

Our parents are genuinely supportive and the salary is highly competitive. Teachers benefit from membership of the Teachers’ Pension Scheme (TPS) and free school lunch is available during term time.

About St Paul's Cathedral School

St Paul’s Cathedral School is a co-educational, Church of England, independent preparatory day school for around 250 children aged 4-13, located in the City of London. It has boarding provision for St Paul’s Cathedral boy choristers, who sing daily at the cathedral, from the age of seven. From September 2023, girl choristers have begun to sing in the cathedral.

The school is owned by the Dean and Chapter of St Paul’s Cathedral; its governing body is made up of five Canons and seven lay members, who are chaired by the Dean. St Paul's can trace its origins back to the 12th century and it existed for several centuries solely to educate the cathedral choristers. It has been co-educational since 2002.
