Head of Humanities
Following a recent increase in student numbers KISU is currently looking to recruit additional high quality teachers. KISU offers a truly holistic education to students from 50 different countries, with staff from 12 nations. KISU is located in central Kampala in a low rise residential area. The school is based on a beautifully landscaped 25 acre plot and is near to up-market shopping and leisure facilities and adjacent to three of the more prosperous residential areas in the city. The school has excellent facilities including: an 8-lane swimming pool, indoor sports centre, auditorium, outdoor theatre, 2 amphitheatres, 3 IT labs, 2 libraries and 5 acres of playing fields. There are specialist teaching areas for Science, Art, Drama, Lego Robotics, Music and Food Technology. Most classrooms are fitted with interactive whiteboards. KISU offers a modified version of the English National Curriculum up to Year 9, followed by IGCSEs and then IB Diploma. KISU students are inclusive, diligent and very well-behaved and are proud of their school. The school's admissions policy is inclusive and there is learning support available to those who may need it. KISU is fully accredited by CIS, NEASC, CIE and the IBO.
We are looking for a Head of Humanities. Experience in English National Curriculum History or Geography at Key Stage 3, IGCSE (History or Geography and Global Perspectives), and IBDP (History or Geography) would be an advantage.
