Our Client is Darwin’s premier school with nationally recognized innovative educational programs and high learning outcomes. The School is located in Darwin’s inner suburbs, a short walk to the beach. The school seeks a well-qualified and highly motivated experienced or aspiring middle leaders. 


About the Role:

  • Head of Humanities 
  • Years 6 to 12
  • Commence in Term 1
  • 3 year contract with view to continue 


Key Responsibilities

  • Inspire and drive innovative programs encouraging the use of Digital Technologies Champion the differentiated models to support gifted and remedial students 
  • Maintain responsibility for the direct supervision of curriculum and teaching programs
  • Strongly promote aspects of Subject Area across the two campuses and ensure the provision of a variety of opportunities for students
  • Support staff in the ongoing development of rigorous classroom practice
  • Conduct regular Faculty meetings across campuses and inform the Director of Teaching and Learning;
  • Ensure you model quality teaching and learning
  • Analyze data from standardized testing and make professional judgements and recommendations re placement of students
  • Ensure differentiated teaching and learning practices
  • Strongly promote Cambridge Curriculum teaching and learning outcomes.

  • A passion for improving learning and teaching
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with proven ability to build productive partnerships and a sense of community in an educational setting
  • Demonstrated high level of written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated high level of teaching
  • Demonstrated effective skills in management of meetings

  • Possess current references

  • Hold a teaching qualification recognised in Australia
  • Be registered, or have the ability to be registered with NTTRB and obtain an Orchre Card
