Ark Kings – transforming the lives of our students

This is a growing school serving its local community – an all-through school that meets the needs of each of its students from Nursery to Year 11 and has the highest expectations of every one of them to do well. We want to transform the life chances of every student who comes to this school. We focus on academic excellence and make sure that every child achieves their potential in subjects that will serve them well beyond school.

In order for pupils to be successful and happy in school, so much is dependent on the work of our teachers and support staff. We are currently looking for an excellent Head of Humanities with a specialism in Geography to lead this new department in the nurture and support of NQTs whilst supporting other strong Heads of Department to continue the curriculum development across Humanities. You will have experience in leading a team with enthusiasm and have taught multi-disciplinary subjects across humanities.

Are you passionate about Geography? Do you want to transform the lives of our students? Do you have the commitment to self-develop and want to lead a team of committed staff that transform the lives of the most vulnerable?  If so we would welcome the opportunity to speak to you.

Geography is so important to our students not only in a global context but also national and local too. In order to give each and every one of our students a full and balanced Geography skill set we pride ourselves on our all through curriculum, building and developing the milestones year on year from Nursery right through to year 11.

Ark Kings Academy prides itself on a culture of high standards from staff and pupils. It is a demanding yet rewarding school where students and staff feel valued and supported.

We focus on supporting staff with continuous personal and professional development and offer a supportive network that encourages both staff and pupils to be the best that they can be.

We are a supportive school in the heart of the community and we are seeking a likeminded passionate individual to support our local community projects for the benefit of all of our families.

You will be working in a school where staff development, collegiality and professional and personal pride in the work you do is rewarded in many ways.

The Role

As Head of Humanities with a specialism in Geography, you will lead, develop and manage the effective delivery of an outstanding curriculum which enables the highest level of student progress and attainment. You will lead the professional community of humanities to ensure high attainment across the school.
