HEAD OF INCLUSION

We are looking for an exceptional teacher and leader with strong strategic vision, who is looking to lead a forward-thinking team in supporting the truly inclusive approach to learning for all here at DBIS. They will have strong interpersonal and leadership skills and an exceptional ability to identify student needs and plan, deliver and assess suitable support as they lead the continuing development and growth of our outstanding IN department.

The Main Purpose of the Role

The Head of Inclusion will lead, support and manage the strategic development of special educational needs (SEND) provision across the Early Years, Primary and Secondary school. They will determine specific provision to support individual pupils with SEND, and be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Inclusion (IN) department, ensuring all students with additional needs are fully supported in their learning across all three phases of the school.

The successful candidate will also have:

  • A genuine enthusiasm and commitment to leading the provision of quality first teaching for all students with additional learning needs.
  • A bachelor’s degree in teaching with qualified teacher status or equivalent.
  • Additional specialist qualifications, and/or experience in supporting SEND and individual learning needs for students from 3 to 18 years of age.
  • A proven ability to appropriately support and challenge students based on a diverse range of  individual needs, to achieve the best holistic outcomes.
  • A commitment to fostering a highly inclusive approach to education, ensuring equal opportunities and securing good outcomes for all students with SEND.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in a middle or senior leadership role, ideally in an international environment.
  • A successful teaching career with at least 4 years experience teaching children with SEND in class and/or within an Individual Needs Department.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional learning and development.
